an awesome mix.

The dictionary defines “gallimaufry” as a hodgepodge. And that’s exactly what you’ll find at Gallimaufry Arts — a hodgepodge of vintage inspired pins and magnets, jewelry and nice paperie!

Take this stunning chain maille bracelet, for instance:

Or maybe you’re not really in a jewelry mood. Maybe you want something nice to doodle in, or to write a nice note to attach to a gift to a friend?

The above is from the mini book collection. They are less than 3 inches square and come in a variety of prints. You can even personalize them with a letter or number pebble for 50 cents more!

This is just a sampling of the gallimaufry at Gallimaufry Arts. Do click on over.

trés chic.

If you take a look around your house, what kind of odds and ends would you come up with? Maybe some mismatching buttons? Some broken jewelry? A box of stuff from say, the 60s, which you’re not sure what to do with?

Maybe you’d toss it out. Of if you were the fabulous gal behind Tomate d’Epingles, you’d turn it into some pretty fab jewelry:

The motto at Tomate d’Epingles is “Recycled jewelry? How eco-chic!” And chic indeed. The pieces combine vintage finds and recycled pieces (like recycled cloth) with new materials (like say, the copper wire in that ring above). That makes for some pretty unique stuff.

And making something new out of something old is always good in general.

Trés bonne, indeed.

get bejeweled.

Looking for some bold, one-of-a-kind jewelry? Check some of these out:

These pieces are from Bejeweled by Gina, a jewelry maker based in Pasadena, California. A self-proclaimed art lover, she loves to create unique pieces using semiprecious stones and minerals. Many of the necklaces featured on her site are definitely chunky and bold!

Get ‘em while you can … Gina doesn’t make duplicates (unless you really, really, really, really need one).

stunning. elegant. beautiful.

It’s almost spring, and I’m sure the wedding scene will start to pick up once the weather gets warmer.

If you’re a bride, or you know a bride or bridesmaid, maybe you should take a look at these:

These stunning piece were found on Etsy at micheledawn’s store. She is a jewelry maker based in the UK.

There was a lot of really intricate work in her shop — even a few tiaras! — and definitely worth checking out if you need some really special stuff.

wearable animals.

You can’t own squirrels and elephants (legally, of course … I think), but you can wear them on your neck:

These adorable pendants can be found at imogen’s Etsy shop. The pendants are a mix of resin and plastics.

In addition to the animals above, there are also resin pendants made with Japanese papers, some with nature scenes, and other cute things. They’re very afforable too!

more metallic goodness …

I like to randomly putter around Etsy because I sometimes find cool stuff like this:

This lovely necklace is from down to the wire designs. The shop is full of great sterling silver jewelry, some accented with brass patterns, like the necklace above.

I originally saw this shop on the front page of Etsy a while ago, when a nice floral box pendant was featured. It looks much like the necklace above, except it was square and was almost like a locket. Sadly, it has been sold.

But at least there is still this really cool ring:

If you’re looking for nice adornments, it’s worth taking a look.

pretty, shiny things.

I am always amazed by metalsmiths and the things they can hammer, polish and etch out. Like this:

This lovely brass locket is from My Sunset Road. The shop is run by Courtney Filer-Dougal, an artist from the Boston Area.

My Sunset Road features all sorts of handmade metal goodness, from necklaces to bracelets (there’s a matching bracelet for the locket above) to earrings and rings. She also has some paintings for sale on her site.

Click on over and see what Courtney’s hammering out. Plenty of eye candy to see.

flower power!

It’s almost spring, and while the weather in some parts of the country doesn’t remind some of spring, you can still anticipate the thaw.

And to celebrate the thaw, how about some brightly colored jewelry? With a flower motif, no less?

These wonderful pieces were crafted by Shari at Bonnin Designs. She makes flamenco-inspired jewelry, and she’s a fabulous gal to boot.

You’ll find plenty of flowers in the floral collection, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
